Murray Anderson - Owner at Milestone Recording Studio Cape Town


Murray Anderson started Milestone Studios over 30 years ago. He has recorded many albums which have earned him Gold and Platinum records, has received awards for recording the Best Rock Album of the Year (for Robin Auld), Best Jazz Album of the Year (for Abdullah Ibrahim), and was the first winner of the Professional Sound Engineer category of the Vuka Awards in 2000.

He has engineered recordings at Milestone Studios for local artists ranging from Amampondo to Jack Parow, HHP, Yvonne Chaka Chaka and the Klipwerf Orkes, jazz artists like Robbie Jansen, Bokani Dyer, and Mandla Mlangeni, and international acts including Annie Lennox, Kaiser Chiefs, Junkie XL, Miley Cyrus and Queen. He recorded and produced Mandisi Dyantyis’ debut album “Somandla” in 2018.

A prolific jingle writer, Murray has also scored the music for local and overseas films and TV programs, including Country Of My Skull, A Boy Called Twist, Hopeville, Krotoa and Felix. In 2005, he and Warrick Sony won the “Best Music” Gemini Award, one of Canada’s highest accolades, for composing the music in “Madiba: The Life and Times of Nelson Mandela”. Jethro Harris - Engineer at Milestone Recording Studio Cape Town


Jethro Harris started recording music at an early age, and is the senior engineer at Milestone. After graduating from SAE, he worked many live shows in clubs like Mercury Live and Assembly, festivals like Rocking the Daisies and Synergy, and concerts like the Old Mutual Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts, where he did four seasons as head stage tech and occasional monitor engineer.

Jethro worked with a number of local and overseas acts, both in studio and on stage, before joining Milestone in 2013. He still works part-time as a Live Sound Engineer, and enjoys new challenges.

Claire Anderson - Voice-Over at Milestone Recording Studio Cape Town


Claire Anderson operates out of Milestone Studio 4 and oversees the day-to-day running of the studio. She received a BA in English Literature and Historical Studies in 2017 and a BA Hons in Historical Studies in 2018, both from UCT. Before working as an engineer, Claire spent several years as a freelance editor and proofreader. She is responsible for Milestone’s voice-over work, aided by a keen ear and her training in textual analysis.

Swannita Denya - Accountant at Milestone Recording Studio Cape Town


Swannita Denya began work at Milestone Studios in 2019. She received a BCom in Financial Accounting at UWC in 2015 and since then has worked as an audit clerk and a financial assistant. Now she is responsible for studio bookings as well as billing and accounts.

Tania Mapoko - Client Comforting at Milestone Recording Studio Cape Town


Tania Maphoko has worked for Milestone Studios since 2009. Her work includes making deliveries, doing collections, cleaning, and catering. Her efforts ensure that Milestone clients are comfortable when they are at the studio.


Tania Madonci - Client Comforting at Milestone Recording Studio Cape Town


Tania Madonci started working for Milestone Studios in 2014. She performs similar duties to Tania Maphoko and is a similarly essential part of making the business run smoothly, and keeping both customers and other staff happy.
