Brooklyn-based group, the Emmanuel Baptist Church choir teamed up with local group Siyaya for a few days of collaborative recording. The American group brought out a keyboard-player, drummer, saxophonist, trumpeter and around twenty singers, under the guidance of Pastor Frank Haye. Cape Town group Siyaya, lead by choir-master Bongani Magatyana, added more singers, a marimba, bass, guitar and percussion. The result was seven tracks to be included in the group’s forth-coming CD, and will form the basis of ongoing collaboration between Milestone and the choirs.
